When we are learning techniques in Jiu-Jitsu, we use the term “drilling” when practicing the move. This term is often misunderstood as simply a matter of repetition and not resistance. When you are drilling it is incredibly important that your partner is resisting realistically so that you can use the technique properly when full resistance is applied in live training.
The process of drilling relies on the active participation of both partners so you can understand both the application and reaction of the technique. While each partner will be different, training yourself to have better reactions is very important to improving our Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Caio’s curriculum is tested at the highest levels of the sport and works because the techniques counter the movement of your opponent no matter how strong, fast, or flexible they are.
