A Journey of a Thousand Rolls Begins with a Single Shrimp
As I sit down to pen this blog, a wave of nostalgia washes over me. It’s been exactly a decade since I embarked on a life-altering journey with the Caio Terra Association (CTA). Ten years ago, my Professor, Caio Terra (@caioterrabjj), welcomed me into a family that would redefine my understanding of community, friendship, guidance, and mentorship.
The Gift of Community
Joining the CTA wasn’t just about learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; it was about becoming part of a community that thrives on support, respect, and camaraderie. Over the years, I’ve seen how this vibrant community has grown, not just in numbers but in spirit. From the mats to the real world, the bonds forged here are unbreakable.
Friendship Beyond the Mats
The friendships I’ve made through CTA are unlike any other. There’s something unique about the bond you form with someone who’s been your partner in both training and life’s ups and downs. We’ve cheered each other on during competitions, supported one another during tough times, and celebrated every victory, no matter how small.
Guidance That Shapes Lives
Caio Terra’s guidance goes beyond BJJ techniques. He’s been a mentor in the truest sense, teaching us life lessons that transcend the dojo. The discipline, resilience, and humility I’ve learned here have been instrumental in shaping who I am today.
Mentorship That Inspires
The mentorship at CTA isn’t a one-way street. It’s a collaborative and continuous process of learning and growing together. Seeing my peers evolve into mentors themselves has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey.
Gratitude: A Word That Means So Much
Saying “Thank You” seems almost inadequate to express the depth of my gratitude. The experiences, memories, and lessons I’ve gained as part of the CTA family are priceless gifts I’ll cherish forever.
Looking Ahead: The Next Decade
As we step into the next decade, I’m filled with excitement and anticipation for what’s to come. The journey with CTA is an ongoing one, with every session bringing new challenges and opportunities for growth.
A Final Shoutout
To my Professor, Caio Terra, and to every single member of the CTA family – thank you. Thank you for being a part of my journey, for every roll, every laugh, every piece of advice, and every shared moment of triumph.
Here’s to the next ten years being even more remarkable!
With heartfelt gratitude,
